Momentum licence cost after the Salesforce acquisition
Momentum still lists seat prices of its own, and Salesforce now shows Momentum inside its Sales Cloud suites. Check which one you are paying for.
Platform & ArchitectureMomentum is unusual among the companies Salesforce has bought recently, because its public price list was still live when we read it on 13 October 2026, with a banner reading "Momentum is now part of Salesforce!" above the plans. At the same time, Salesforce's own Sales Cloud pricing page now names Momentum inside its suites. A buyer can therefore be offered the same product through two doors at two prices, and the first job of a licence review is to work out which door your contract came through.
The completion record is a single dated sentence: "Salesforce completed its acquisition of Momentum on March 2, 2026." Salesforce's announcement says the purchase extends the ability of Agentforce 360 and Slackbot to ingest and analyse unstructured data from third-party video channels, naming Zoom and Google Meet. That tells you where the product is heading. It does not say whether Momentum's standalone plans remain open to new customers, and nothing we could verify says they have closed.
What Momentum's own plans cost
Momentum describes its plans as annual. The page does not state a currency, so treat the figures as list prices to be confirmed on a quote.
| Plan or add-on | List price | What the page says it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Business | $69 per user per month | Core AI features, CRM hygiene, Slack Deal Rooms |
| Transformation | $99 per user per month | Executive briefs, AI coaching, analytics |
| Enterprise | Custom | Single sign-on, service levels, white-glove support, compliance |
| Conversation Intelligence module | $30 per user per month | Note-taker, video library, account briefs, Smart Clips |
| Deep Research | Annual platform licence plus usage credits | Metered depth of analysis |

Three details change how you should read that table. Account briefs and Smart Clips are described as supported only when the Conversation Intelligence module is on, so a plan that looks complete without the $30 add-on may not be. Professional services for workflow setup and onboarding are offered as an add-on to any plan, and no price is attached. And the page carries two commercial notes: discounted pricing is available for teams of 50 or more, and the startup plan offers half off the Business or Transformation tiers for teams with fewer than ten people in go-to-market roles.
It also says: "Minimum pricing thresholds may apply depending on implementation scope." That sentence is the one to underline. A list price per seat does not guarantee the price you pay, because a minimum may apply when configuration is involved.
What Salesforce says about Momentum in Sales Cloud
On the Sales Cloud pricing page, the card for the Core suite, listed at US$195 per user per month (AU$273), reads "Everything in Professional Edition plus Momentum and Premier Success". The same page states that "Sales Cloud pricing follows a per-user, per-month subscription model." and lists Starter Suite at 25, Pro Suite at 100, Advanced at 395 and Max at 550, all in US dollars.
The feature grid is less tidy than the card. One Momentum row marks it "Available for purchase" on the Starter and Pro suites and "Coming Soon" on Core and Advanced. A second row, described as capturing every sales call and meeting and converting conversation data into structured CRM updates, shows ticks for Core, Advanced and Max. We cannot reconcile those from the public page, and we would not try. They look like different packaging of related capabilities at different dates.
The practical lesson is to ask for the entitlement in writing. If you hold Core or above, ask whether Momentum is included, which Momentum capabilities, for which users and from what date. If you hold Pro Suite or lower, ask whether Salesforce will sell Momentum as an add-on and at what price, since the grid says only that it can be purchased.
Arithmetic on the standalone prices
These are multiplications of the published rates for a 50-seller team, before any discount. They show scale and are not a quote.
Business for a year is 50 times $69 times 12, which is $41,400. Transformation is 50 times $99 times 12, or $59,400. Adding the Conversation Intelligence module at $30 is another 50 times $30 times 12, or $18,000, taking the two plans to $59,400 and $77,400. For comparison, Core on Salesforce's list is 50 times $195 times 12, or $117,000, but that buys the CRM seat as well, so it is not a like-for-like alternative. The sensible comparison is the increment: what does Momentum cost you on top of the seats you already hold?
If you already pay for Core or above and Momentum is genuinely included, a standalone $69 seat would be paying twice. If you are on Pro Suite and Momentum is a purchasable add-on, the number to beat is the price Salesforce quotes against Momentum's own $69 and $99.
Where Flex Credits come in
Salesforce says Momentum's ingestion will integrate with Agentforce 360 and Slackbot. Agentforce is metered in Flex Credits, and the Sales page shows Core with 500,000 Flex Credits per org per year, Advanced with 1 million and Max with 2.75 million, with more available to buy. Momentum's call summaries and field updates written by an agent will presumably consume credits like other agent actions, but we could not verify any published credit rate for a Momentum action. Ask for it. A seat price that covers recording but leaves the agent actions metered can look cheap in a proposal and expensive in month nine.
What drives the number you pay
Seats come first, and the useful question is whose seats. Sellers who take calls need recording and summaries. Managers may only need to read briefs and coaching. Revenue operations may only need analytics. If a quote prices every role at the same tier, ask whether a lower tier exists for readers.
Next is the module mix. The Conversation Intelligence module, executive briefs, Smart Clips and Deep Research are each separate switches. Then the term and commitment: annual plans, a possible implementation minimum, and a renewal cap. Finally the integration surface. Momentum's notetaker joins Zoom and Google Meet calls and writes to Salesforce fields, so ask whether API calls or storage for recordings carry any limit, and how long recordings are held. Consent and retention are design and legal matters, covered on the Momentum, call insight and what the acquisition does not prove page, but a retention period often drives storage terms.
Right-sizing and comparing offers
Count the people who actually join external calls in a typical month, not the whole sales organisation. Add managers who coach from recordings. Start with that group and a pilot rather than a company-wide purchase, and note that the Momentum page says custom pilots and startup offers are available on request.
When you compare Momentum with another conversation intelligence product, put the same columns on both: seat price by role, the cost of the recording module, AI and credit metering, Salesforce write-back fields, security features such as single sign-on, support level, term and exit. Ask each vendor what happens to stored recordings if you leave. A comparison on the headline seat price alone will mislead you, particularly where one vendor bundles recording and another sells it as a $30 extra.
Contract points
Because Momentum plans are annual and Salesforce says "Most Salesforce products use annual contracts, but Salesforce subscription terms vary.", read the term, auto-renewal and uplift clauses with the same care as a CRM renewal. If Momentum moves onto a Salesforce order form during the year, check that the seat count, the tier and the price are carried over and that you are not billed by both parties.
Three buyer positions
Where you start decides what to ask.
If you are already a Sales Cloud customer on Core, Advanced or Max, the first move is entitlement. Ask which Momentum capabilities your suite includes today, whether the Conversation Intelligence functions are part of that or a purchase, and when any capability described as coming soon is due. Do not buy Momentum seats separately until you have that answer, because the two price lists overlap.
If you are on Pro Suite or lower, the Sales grid shows Momentum as available for purchase, so you have two doors. One is Salesforce's quote, the other is Momentum's own list. Ask for both in writing for the same seat count and the same modules, and make sure each says whether CRM write-back, security features and support are included. The cheaper headline may be the more limited product.
If you do not use Salesforce CRM at all, Momentum's own plans exist for CRM hygiene and conversation analysis, but the acquisition suggests the strategic direction is toward Agentforce and Slack. Ask about the long-term plan for the standalone product and what contractual protection you have if it is repackaged.
Support, security and the extras
The Transformation tier adds premium support on top of Slack-based support, and Enterprise adds white-glove onboarding and single sign-on. If your security team requires single sign-on, that decides your tier before any feature comparison does. Momentum also offers an AI and automation professional services add-on for workflow setup and onboarding, which is a services line rather than a licence, so keep it on the services side of the budget.
Questions for the account executive
Which edition of Sales Cloud do we hold, and does it include Momentum? Which users get recording, summaries and field updates? How is a user defined, and can a manager role be read-only? Does the recording module come with the seat or cost extra? How are Agentforce actions triggered by Momentum metered? What are the term, renewal cap and exit terms, and what happens to stored recordings on exit? Are there minimums or onboarding fees tied to implementation scope?
Each of those can change the total by more than the difference between the $69 and $99 tiers, so they deserve a written answer.
Reading the seat price against what it replaces
A conversation intelligence seat is rarely bought in isolation. It usually replaces manual note-taking, a separate call recorder or a coaching tool, and the finance case is built on that replacement. Before you accept either door, list the tools you expect to switch off, what each costs, and when its contract ends. A seat price that looks high beside Momentum's $69 can look sensible once a recorder licence and a note-taking add-on are retired, and a cheap seat can be poor value if the old tools run on beside it for another year.
Be equally careful with the savings side of the sum. This page does not publish a win rate or a time saving, because none is established by the sources, and you should ask any vendor to show how a claimed saving was measured and on whose data. Build your own baseline in a pilot: average time spent on call notes and CRM updates before, and the same after, for the same group of sellers.
Timing the purchase
Buy to the calendar of your existing Salesforce contract where you can. If your Sales Cloud renewal is a few months away, a Momentum quote folded into it may carry a better price than a standalone annual plan started today, and it gives you one term to manage. If your renewal is a year out and the pain is immediate, start with a pilot on a small group and a short term, and ask for the pilot price to carry into the main agreement.

This page covers the licence. For the deal see what happened to Momentum. For how a call reaches Salesforce fields see integrating Momentum with Salesforce. For moving off the product see should you migrate from Momentum. Scope, consent and retention work is on the Momentum page.
The short version for procurement
Salesforce completed the Momentum acquisition on 2 March 2026. Momentum.io listed Business at $69, Transformation at $99 and a $30 conversation add-on per user per month on 13 October 2026, with Enterprise custom. Salesforce lists Core at US$195 per user per month and says it includes Momentum, although its grid is inconsistent.
