The right part, in the right van, before the job begins.
The Parts and Inventory Check Agent answers "where can I get one?" in the Salesforce Field Service app: the technician's own van, every warehouse after its emergency reserve, and colleagues' vans nearby. It keeps the wrong part off the job and the last part for the job that needs it, and sends one approved request to a live Parts Desk.
Highlights
One answer: his van, the warehouse and a colleague's van1 / 7
The problem
A missing part turns a simple repair into two visits, an unhappy customer and a wasted afternoon. The technician rings the warehouse, waits on hold, maybe fits whatever he has, and starts tomorrow with a run to the warehouse.
Tomorrow starts with a parts run.
See it work
Recorded live in the Salesforce Field Service app, on a demonstration company and a real Salesforce org. Ben's lines were spoken into the app's own voice input; the text is what the phone wrote down, and the replies are the agent's own words from that run, unedited.
Where can we get a compressor relay for this unit?
Compressor relay 5510: none on your van (Van 04). Dogpatch Warehouse has 3, 2 free after the reserve. Sarah Collins has 1 in Van 06, on a job at Pacific Heights Dental right now.
Why it matters. Two relays matched his words; the agent picked the one the job under way needs, and named who has one and where they are.
Hannah ticks the handover on the Parts Desk half an hour later, and the transfer completes. The clinic is cooling again by early afternoon, and the florist's cooler is fixed at 2:30 with the relay Ben almost used up.
The demonstration company is in San Francisco, so the agent writes US English. That follows your settings.
What the warehouse sees
The Parts Desk shows today's requests with where each part comes from, for which technician and job, and its stage. Van stock to restock, warehouse stock near its reserve and tomorrow's pick lists sit beside them.

Why it's different
| When this happens | A typical van stock app | The Parts and Inventory Check Agent |
|---|---|---|
| The part isn't on the van | Ring the warehouse and wait | One answer: his van, the warehouse after its reserve, colleagues' vans nearby |
| A similar part is handy | Fitted, and the warranty finds out later | Only approved substitutes, with the reason when it isn't |
| The last one on the van | Used now; the next job finds out | Kept for the later job that needs it |
| Emergency stock | Taken by whoever asks first | Never below the reserve |
| Another van has one | Nobody knows | Named, with where they are, after their own jobs |
| Tomorrow | A morning run to the warehouse | Every job checked tonight; one pick list, a source per line |
Capabilities
Each capability links to its moment in the film.
His van, warehouses after their reserve, and colleagues' vans with who has them and where.
Only approved substitutes; anything else gets the warranty reason.
The last part on the van is kept for a later job that needs it.
A colleague's van gives only what their own jobs don't need.
Review Parts Request shows exactly what will be requested.
Every job checked; a fix for every gap; one pick list.
Who it's for
Fewer second visits, no parts bought twice and emergency stock where it should be.
Asked in the app he already uses, then one tap to approve.
Every request arrives approved, tied to a job, with tomorrow's pick lists the night before.

Security
How the agent is kept to its job, and where its work is recorded.
It runs as its own user with permission sets written for this agent, so it can reach only what the job needs.
The agent cannot edit records freely. Every change goes through one of its 12 actions, each with one job.
Every request is a draft until the technician approves it on Review Parts Request.
Agentforce runs on the Salesforce platform and its Einstein Trust Layer. Confirm which Trust Layer features apply to agents in your org with your Salesforce account team.
What the agent does lands as normal Salesforce records with their full history, so you can see who changed what and when.

What buyers ask us
Yes. Technicians open Agentforce from the job's Actions and ask in their own words. Review Parts Request is a quick action on the same job.
Yes. Every warehouse keeps the reserve you set for each part, and a colleague's van keeps what their own jobs still need.
It only suggests parts on your approved list, and says why when an offered part isn't approved: it could affect the warranty.
Yes. If a part is the last one on his van and a later job today needs it, the agent tells him to keep it. It also checks tomorrow's jobs and finds a source for every gap.
No. Every request is a draft until he approves it. Then it is created once and goes to the Parts Desk.
A live Parts Desk in Salesforce: requests with source, technician and job, van stock to restock, stock near reserve and tomorrow's pick lists.
No. Costs and suppliers are never shown, and stock counts are never edited by the agent.
It depends on your Field Service inventory and rules. We scope it with you on a call.
