Running Sales, Service and Marketing Clouds for a Global Personal Development Company
A global personal development and coaching company sells programs, seminars and coaching worldwide, through its own team and a network of independent consultants. We look after its Salesforce estate across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Account Engagement (Pardot) and Marketing Cloud, keeping selling, support and marketing working as one system.

The starting position
The company is an established name in personal development. It sells coaching programs, live seminars and training to people around the world who want to change their results, and it reaches them through its own sales team and a worldwide network of independent consultants who deliver its programs. Its audience is large, global and engaged, and much of its business comes from people who start with one program and return for the next.
That model depends on three things working together. Marketing has to reach a broad audience and nurture interest over time. Sales, both internal and through consultants, has to turn that interest into enrolments. And customers who enrol need support, because the experience they have during a program shapes whether they come back.
The company runs all three on Salesforce: Sales Cloud for its pipeline, Service Cloud for customer support, Account Engagement (Pardot) for lead nurturing and scoring, and Marketing Cloud for large-scale email and journeys. Four clouds, one customer journey, and a business that changes constantly as new programs, seminars and campaigns launch. The company needed a partner to look after that estate.
What we look after
01 Sales Cloud
Sales Cloud is where the company's sales team and consultants work their leads and opportunities. We administer it: users and access, the configuration of the sales process, automation, data quality and the reporting leadership relies on to see the pipeline.
02 Service Cloud
Service Cloud is where enrolled customers get help with their programs, events and accounts. We keep the case process, queues and supporting configuration working, so customer questions reach the right people and are answered.
03 Account Engagement (Pardot)
Account Engagement handles nurturing and scoring: forms, programs and the rules that decide when a prospect is ready for sales. We maintain it and its connection to Sales Cloud, so qualified prospects move to the sales team at the right moment with the right information.
04 Marketing Cloud
Marketing Cloud reaches the company's broad global audience with email and journeys, from event promotion to ongoing engagement. We support its configuration and its alignment with the rest of the estate, so marketing works from the same customer picture as sales and service.
05 Keeping the clouds connected
The most important part of the work sits between the clouds. A prospect nurtured in Pardot has to arrive in Sales Cloud correctly. A customer who enrols has to be recognized by Service Cloud. A customer who completes a program has to be known to Marketing Cloud for what comes next. We look after those hand-offs, because that is where a multi-cloud estate most often breaks.
The customer journey across four clouds
Someone discovers the company through a seminar promotion sent from Marketing Cloud. They fill in a form to attend a free introductory event, which Account Engagement captures and begins to score. Over the following weeks, their engagement with emails and events raises their score until they qualify as a lead.
The lead arrives in Sales Cloud and is followed up by a member of the sales team or a consultant, who helps them choose a program. They enrol. When they later have a question about their program schedule, they contact support, and the case is handled in Service Cloud with their history visible to the agent.
When they finish the program, their participation is known to marketing, and they start receiving information about the next step. The journey begins again, this time with a customer who already trusts the company.
Each step happens in a different cloud. The customer never notices, which is exactly the point.
Serving a global audience and a consultant network
Two features of this business shape how the Salesforce estate has to work.
The audience is worldwide. Customers and prospects come from many countries and time zones. Marketing journeys, event communications and support all have to work for people who are not in the company's home market, which affects how campaigns are scheduled, how contact preferences and consent are handled and how service requests are routed.
Selling happens through many hands. Alongside its own sales team, the company works with independent consultants who deliver its programs and bring in their own clients. That means the CRM has to support people who are not employees: giving them what they need to work their opportunities, while protecting customer information and keeping the company's view of the whole pipeline intact.
Both features raise the stakes on configuration that would be routine in a simpler business. A sharing rule, a consent setting or a lead assignment rule is not a one-off decision here; it affects thousands of contacts across countries and a network of people outside the company. Ongoing support means these settings are reviewed and adjusted as the business grows, instead of being set once and forgotten.
Why a multi-cloud estate needs continuous care
A Salesforce estate with four clouds is never finished. New programs mean new products, campaigns and journeys. New seminars mean new events and registrations. Consultants join, sales processes are refined and service policies change. Every change touches at least one cloud, and many touch the connections between them.
Without someone responsible for the whole estate, small inconsistencies build up. A scoring rule in Pardot drifts from how sales actually qualifies leads. A new program is added in one cloud but not another. A sync between marketing and sales fails quietly and leads stop flowing. None of these is dramatic on its own, and each costs revenue until it is found.
Ongoing administration across all four clouds prevents that drift. The same team sees the whole picture, understands how a change in one cloud affects the others and keeps the customer journey intact as the business evolves.
What good multi-cloud support looks like
One view of the estate. We understand all four clouds and how they connect, so changes are made with the whole journey in mind.
Clear hand-off rules. The definitions of a qualified lead, an enrolled customer and an engaged contact are agreed and reflected consistently across clouds.
Data quality as routine work. Duplicates, incomplete records and broken syncs are found and fixed regularly, before they distort reports or customer experience.
Changes that keep pace with the business. New programs, campaigns and team changes are reflected in the configuration promptly, so the system supports the business as it is now.
Reporting leadership trusts. Pipeline, service and marketing reporting draw on consistent data, so decisions rest on numbers everyone believes.
How we work with the company
Own the whole estate. We look after Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Account Engagement and Marketing Cloud together, not as separate silos.
Protect the hand-offs. The connections between marketing, sales and service get the most attention, because they matter most to customers.
Respond to change. Configuration keeps pace with new programs, seminars, campaigns and team changes.
Keep data healthy. Data quality and sync health are part of the routine.
The decisions that matter
Treat four clouds as one journey. Supporting the estate as a whole prevents the drift that separate owners create.
Agree definitions across teams. Shared definitions of leads and customers keep marketing, sales and service aligned.
Invest in continuity. A team that knows the estate makes each change faster and safer.
What changes with ongoing support
| Area | Without an owner | With ongoing support |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing to sales | Scoring and hand-off rules drift | Agreed rules maintained between Pardot and Sales Cloud |
| Sales pipeline | Configuration lags behind the business | Sales Cloud kept current for sales and consultants |
| Customer support | Cases risk falling between teams | Service Cloud process maintained |
| Global marketing | Journeys disconnected from sales data | Marketing Cloud aligned with the customer picture |
| Data quality | Problems found by accident | Routine checks and fixes |
| Change | Each launch a scramble | Programs and campaigns reflected promptly |
What we would tell a company running several clouds
Treat your Salesforce clouds as one customer journey, and give the whole journey an owner. Agree what a qualified lead and a customer mean across marketing, sales and service, protect the hand-offs between clouds, and keep your data healthy as routine work. When the estate is cared for as a whole, customers move from first contact to their next program without ever noticing the systems underneath.
