# Bluebirds licence cost: what to buy in Sales Cloud now

Salesforce said it would bring Bluebirds into Sales Cloud and Agentforce. The thing you can actually license today is a Sales Cloud edition, an Agentforce add-on, and Flex Credits.

## In short

Salesforce completed the Bluebirds acquisition on 13 August 2025 and said it would bring the capabilities into Sales Cloud and Agentforce. No Bluebirds price is published. What you can license is Sales Cloud, priced per user per month from US$25 to US$550, plus Agentforce for Sales from US$125 a user, or Flex Credits at US$500 per 100,000.

## What to take away

- No standalone Bluebirds price is published. Salesforce said the capabilities would move into Sales Cloud and Agentforce, so the licence you read is a Sales Cloud one.
- Sales Cloud lists at US$25 (Starter Suite), US$100 (Pro Suite), US$195 (Core), US$395 (Advanced) and US$550 (Max) per user per month on the date read.
- The Agentforce prospecting skill is listed as available for purchase in Core and Advanced and included in Max. Agentforce for Sales as an add-on starts at US$125 a user a month.
- Work out the cost per seller before you compare editions, then check whether credits or seats are the cheaper way to buy the same prospecting.

## The guide

A sales operations lead gets two documents on the same afternoon. One is a Sales Cloud renewal. The other is a proposal for a prospecting tool whose vendor, Bluebirds, was acquired by Salesforce. The question in the room is whether the second document is still necessary, or whether the capability now arrives inside the first. That is a licensing question before it is a product question, and the answer depends on which edition you hold.

## What Salesforce said it would do

The completion notice is short.

"Salesforce completed its acquisition of Bluebirds on August 13, 2025."

The announcement that carried it described Bluebirds as an AI-powered prospecting platform that helps sales teams identify and engage high-potential leads using lead intelligence and data enrichment. It added the commercial sentence that matters here: [Salesforce planned to bring these capabilities into Sales Cloud and Agentforce](https://www.salesforce.com/news/stories/salesforce-signs-definitive-agreement-to-acquire-bluebirds/), giving customers new ways to automate pre-sales work. A plan to bring something into products is not a price. It tells you where to look, which is the Sales Cloud and Agentforce price book, and it tells you not to expect a Bluebirds line. We tried to reach the standalone Bluebirds website on 13 October 2026 and could not connect to it, so we have no standalone terms to report either.

## The edition ladder, with prices

Sales Cloud is sold the plain way. In Salesforce's own words, "Sales Cloud pricing follows a per-user, per-month subscription model." The list prices on the [Sales pricing page](https://www.salesforce.com/sales/pricing/) on 13 October 2026, in US dollars per user per month, were as follows.

| Edition | List price per user per month | Billing |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Starter Suite | US$25 | Monthly or annually |
| Pro Suite | US$100 | Annually |
| Core | US$195 | Annually |
| Advanced | US$395 | Annually |
| Max | US$550 | Annually |

Currency matters if you buy in Australia, because the same page lists Australian dollar prices, for example AU$35 a user a month for Starter Suite. Read the price in the currency of your contract, and read the page's own note that pricing is provided for information and is subject to change.

## Where the prospecting skill sits

This is the table that answers the Bluebirds question in licence terms. The Sales Cloud comparison on the same page lists an item called Agentforce: Prospecting, described as using Agentforce to find and rank your best leads to engage. On the date read, it was shown as not offered in the Starter Suite and Pro Suite columns, marked available for purchase in Core and Advanced, and included in Max.

Be careful about what that does and does not tell you. It tells you which edition column carries the skill. It does not tell you that the skill is the Bluebirds technology, because the page does not say so, and it does not tell you what the purchase option costs. It is the best evidence a buyer can read today for where the capability would be licensed, and it is the right place to anchor the conversation with your account executive.

There are three ways the capability can reach a seller:

- Move to Max, which the page describes as including Agentforce for Sales, Agentforce Coworker, and an allocation of 2.75 million Flex Credits per org per year.
- Stay on Core or Advanced and buy the skill, or buy the Agentforce for Sales add-on, which the page lists from US$125 per user per month.
- Stay where you are and buy usage through Flex Credits for the actions the prospecting agent performs.

Each is a different commercial shape, and the right one depends on how many of your sellers actually prospect.

## Seats or credits

Agentforce usage can be bought by the seat or by consumption, and for prospecting the difference is large enough to be worth a worked example. Salesforce describes the consumption unit this way: "Flex Credits are a new unit of payment for Agentforce that align cost to the business value your AI agents create." On the [Agentforce pricing page](https://www.salesforce.com/agentforce/pricing/), Flex Credits were listed at US$500 per 100,000 credits, and a standard action draws 20 credits, which works out at US$0.10 an action.

Arithmetic on those two published figures shows the break-even. A US$125 add-on seat buys unmetered Agentforce use for that employee. The same US$125 buys 1,250 actions in credits. So an add-on seat is the cheaper way to buy only if one seller triggers more than about 1,250 prospecting actions a month, and credits are cheaper for the many sellers who prospect lightly or only in campaigns. The number of actions per lead is yours to measure; we have not assumed one, because the pricing page defines an action by what an agent executes, not by a lead.

The Max edition changes the maths again. Its bundled 2.75 million credits a year equal 137,500 actions at 20 credits each, and at the published credit rate those credits are worth roughly US$14,000 at list. Whether that is generous depends on headcount. Spread across 50 sellers it is a modest allowance. Concentrated on a team of five prospectors it is plentiful.

## Rules that decide whether the credits are enough

Credits come with contract mechanics that change the economics, and they are quoted on the same pricing page.

Unused credits do not carry over. The page says it directly: "Unused Flex Credits do not roll over into subsequent subscription terms." So a bundled allowance that you under-consume is wasted, and a pre-purchased block bought to hit a discount can be a loss if the use case ramps slowly.

Flex Credits and conversation pricing cannot coexist in one org, according to the same page, so a decision made for a service agent can constrain what you buy for sales.

There are pre-purchase, pre-commit and pay-as-you-go buying models for credits. Pay-as-you-go is billed monthly in arrears. Pre-commit includes a true-up at term end if usage falls below the commitment. Ask which model your quote assumes, and what the rate is when you exceed the allowance, because the page says your contracted rate applies to overage, billed monthly in arrears.

## Right-sizing prospecting licences

Start from people, not from the product. List the roles who actually find and qualify new leads: development representatives, account executives who prospect their own territory, and marketing operations staff who nurture. Count them separately from the sellers who work inbound leads and renewals, because only the first group needs the prospecting capability.

Then price the three shapes against that headcount. If twelve people prospect heavily, a seat add-on for those twelve may be cheaper than moving every seller to Max. If two hundred sellers prospect occasionally, credits will usually beat seats, and Max may suit only if you were about to upgrade for other reasons. Bring the number of leads worked per person per week, an estimate of actions per lead from a pilot, and a month of real consumption before you sign a commitment. A free trial of Starter Suite is not a trial of this capability, so do not treat it as one.

Data enrichment is the other cost to watch. The announcement says Bluebirds relies on lead intelligence and data enrichment. Ask who licenses the underlying data, whether enriched records stay yours if you stop using the service, and whether enrichment counts toward any usage meter. The pages we read do not answer those questions.

## A twenty-seller comparison at list prices

A comparison makes the editions concrete. Suppose twenty of your sellers prospect, and use the published list prices with annual billing. These are our arithmetic on Salesforce's figures, with a headcount we chose, and they exclude any discount.

| Route for twenty sellers | Monthly list cost | Yearly list cost |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Core, with the Agentforce for Sales add-on from US$125 | US$6,400 | US$76,800 |
| Advanced, with the add-on | US$10,400 | US$124,800 |
| Max, with Agentforce for Sales included | US$11,000 | US$132,000 |

Two readings follow. First, the gap between Advanced plus the add-on and Max is only US$30 a user a month at list, and Max also bundles Slack Enterprise+, Tableau Next, Salesforce Spiff, Sales Planning, Sales Programs, Salesforce Maps and 2.75 million Flex Credits per org per year. If you were going to buy any of those anyway, Max can be cheaper than assembling the pieces. Second, the add-on route assumes the add-on carries the prospecting skill. The price page lists the skill separately, so confirm in writing that the add-on you are quoted includes it, and what it costs if it does not.

## Renewal and billing mechanics

The edition table also carries commercial rules that affect the real cost.

Billing differs by edition. The page shows Starter Suite as billed monthly or annually, and the other editions as billed annually. A team that wants to test prospecting for a quarter will find that Core, Advanced and Max are annual commitments, which makes a short pilot a credit-based exercise rather than an edition change.

Support is a line of its own. The page prices the Premier Success Plan as a share of net licence fees, so moving up an edition raises support cost as well as the seat price. Include it in any comparison of Advanced and Max.

Currency and discounts matter. The page offers Australian dollar, euro, pound, yen and krona prices, and states that it is for information and subject to change. Your quote will reflect your negotiation, so treat the list as the ceiling for comparison, not a prediction.

Edition changes mid-term deserve a question. Ask whether you can upgrade seats at the current rate before renewal, whether a downgrade is possible at renewal, and whether Flex Credits bought for one edition carry over if you change.

## Pilot before commitment

The cleanest way to avoid buying the wrong shape is a four-week pilot on a single team, run on consumption, with a written plan for what you will measure. Pick a team that prospects every day, keep the list size fixed, and record three numbers: how many agent actions each prospected lead consumed, how many leads moved to a qualified conversation, and how many hours of seller time the work removed. The first number prices the credits, the second shows whether the capability works on your data, and the third turns the result into money you can set against the quote.

Do not start a pilot on the bundle that you are trying to evaluate. If you are on Advanced and wondering about Max, run the pilot on Advanced with credits, so that the difference between the two editions is visible in your own numbers rather than in a sales deck. And keep the list clean. A prospecting agent working a stale list consumes credits on leads that were never going to answer, which makes the capability look worse than it is and the cost per qualified lead look higher.

Prices are US list prices read on 13 October 2026 from Salesforce's own pages and are subject to change. Enterprise discounts, currency and bundling will move the number you are actually quoted.

## What to ask your account executive

Ask which edition column carries the prospecting skill in your contract, whether it is included or an extra line, and what the unit price is. Ask for the credit rate and the overage rate in writing, and for the term end date so that you can plan a true-up rather than be surprised by one. Then ask what happens to enriched lead data on exit. Those four answers are worth more than a headline discount.

## Questions

### Is there a separate Bluebirds licence I can buy from Salesforce?

Not that any pricing page shows. Salesforce said on 13 August 2025 that it would bring Bluebirds capabilities into Sales Cloud and Agentforce, so the licence to read is a Sales Cloud edition, an Agentforce add-on or Flex Credits. Ask your account executive which line applies.

### Which Sales Cloud edition includes prospecting?

On 13 October 2026 the Sales Cloud comparison listed Agentforce prospecting as available for purchase in Core and Advanced and included in Max, and not offered in the lower editions. List prices were US$195, US$395 and US$550 per user per month respectively, billed annually.

### Is an Agentforce seat or Flex Credits cheaper for prospecting?

At published rates, a US$125 add-on seat equals 1,250 actions in credits at US$0.10 each. Seats win for heavy prospectors above that monthly volume; credits win for light or campaign use. Measure actions per lead in a pilot before choosing.

### What happens to unused Flex Credits?

Salesforce states that unused credits do not roll over into subsequent subscription terms. A bundled allowance you under-consume is lost, so size the first term from measured consumption instead of from the maximum the edition would give you.

### Should I keep paying for a standalone prospecting tool?

Not automatically. Compare what the Sales Cloud and Agentforce route would cost for your prospecting headcount with the standalone renewal, and check who owns the enriched data on exit. Keep the old tool until the Salesforce route is proven on your own leads.
