## How it works

- **Request leave.** New requests for any leave type, from dates to submission.
- **Check balance.** Remaining leave per type for the signed-in employee only.
- **Manage my requests.** List and cancel the employee's own upcoming requests.

## The rules it follows

- The agent never approves, rejects or edits a decision. Only the manager can.
- End date must be on or after start date. Start dates more than 7 days in the past are flagged as retrospective and noted on the request.
- Block overlapping requests for the same employee and say which request overlaps.
- Sick leave: store the leave type and dates only. Do not ask for or store medical detail.
- Employees see only their own balance and requests.
- If the employee has no manager on record, stop and notify the admin channel.

- Salesforce Platform licenses for all staff and Slack for Salesforce.
- Entitlement rules and the public holiday list.
- Manager hierarchy loaded in the User object.
